Reality is subjective, but if we're in this boat together it's important to realize the perils of the situation. To not do so is to deny ourselves a reasonable chance of survival. It's one thing to see troubled water and decide not to act knowing full well the dangers. It is something else all together to deny the troubles that are right in front of you. Your feelings are not unwarranted and are not without merit. By being forthright about how you feel you (we) can begin addressing your concerns. Not speaking honestly is the social equivalent of loading a gun and putting it in your mouth. Whether or not it fires, it's adding unnecessary potential for collateral damage.
