Fake Word of the Day III

This entry is dedicated to Christina J. Park of San Dimas, California.

An occasional series where I take something for which there is no word and invent a word for it.

Loddle - a noise which occurs only in the night time when everything else is quiet; it might be a gentle clicking, or a light rattle of some sort; it occurs intermittently, and seems to be sensitive to your efforts to track it down.

Slired - the condition whereby you're too tired to do anything about a loddle (q.v.); but not sleepy enough to ignore it and drop off.
