1. Are you an Essential Worker?
No. But I work from home anyway and my job has been almost entirely unaffected.
2. How many drinks have you had since the quarantine started?
The usual amount.
3. If you have kids... Are they driving you nuts?
I don't. I live alone - thankfully my last lodger moved out in March, just in time to let me be all by myself for lockdown; I wouldn't have liked to worry about the actions of a virtual stranger.
4. What new hobby have you taken up during this?
None. I don't have enough time for all the things I already want to do, never mind new things! (copied verbatim from @trobadora)
5. How many grocery runs have you done?
I go once a week, to get stuff for myself and a couple of vulnerable neighbours. Normally I'd go maybe 3 times a week, for the special offers at Lidl and Aldi and one general shop.
6. What are you spending your stimulus check on?
This must be a US thing?
7. Do you have any special occasions that you will miss during this quarantine?
My family had planned a reunion thing in May, which is now not likely to happen. I have concert tickets for June in Japan, which given the sluggish approach to the virus over there will probably also not happen. I have a trip to Germany planned for August and I really hope that that will be possible.
8. Are you keeping your housework done? Ish?
My usual amount of housework, yes. Which is not much. Dishes, cat tray, occasional laundry... I'm cheating lockdown a little by having my cleaner still come on the morning when I'm out of the house shopping. I wipe all handles with disinfectant when I get back, and I wash my hands a lot anyway, so that feels reasonably safe to me.
9. What movie have you watched during this quarantine?
None. I'm just watching the Untamed over and over, plus some Untamed-adjacent things.
10. What are you streaming with?
I don't stream much. Sometimes youtube, sometimes wetv. But I usually download the things I want to watch.
11. 9 months from now is there any chance of you having a baby?
Speaking as a post-menopausal, intentionally child-free person without a live-in partner: if I do, someone better tell the Pope.
12. What's your go-to quarantine meal?
Whatever I dig out of the freezer next. I have a delightful mix of frozen takeout leftovers, frozen batches of stuff I once cooked, and frozen ready-meals I picked up on their 'sell by' date at a lower prics. So it's quite, quite varied.
And sometimes I defrost something which is hard to identify because labelling my leftovers/batches? Uh... So then I have a nice (usually) surprise. I'd totally forgotten, for instance, that once in my life I made jerk pork.
13. Is this whole situation making you paranoid?
Not really. Not much can happen to me when I sit at home.
14. Has your internet gone out on you during this time?
No. That would impact my mental health very negatively...
15. What month do you predict this all ends?
I can't predict but I'm hoping that by August, many restrictions will have been lifted. Completely end, not until a vaccine is found.
16. First thing you're gonna do when you get off quarantine?
Quarantine hasn't really changed my life all that much. Start again with the volunteering and politics, I guess.
17. Where do you wish you were right now?
Exactly where I am. Here is perfect. Just me and the cats. (Okay, for a greater chance at survival if I get the virus, I'd prefer to be in Germany, where around 2 in 100 of infected people die, compared to 13 in 100 here - but apart from that, here is good.)
18. What free-from-quarantine activity are you missing the most?
Travelling, I guess. Visiting people and countries.
19. Have you run out of toilet paper and hand sanitizer?
I never had any and sanitizer. Toilet paper is no problem, I had a Brexit stash which I'm using and when I go shopping, I replenish - it's available again now in small quantities.
20. Do you have enough food to last a month?
I tend to bulk buy food when it's on special offer, or batch cook then freeze (I'm lazy), so with all that's in my pantry and freezer, I could probably be quarantined for three months and not run out. Perhaps longer.
I'd miss eggs though.
Guys, I have SO MANY favourite books. I'll narrow it down to three, all long-time favourites which I've read more often than I can count.
Nothing highbrow. I'm a simple soul. :)
