This is from the X/1999 anime, where feathers dramatically swirling in night skies and dropping into water feature heavily in the aesthetic. I was very, very much into the show and had all sorts of icons for it. This one was my default for a while. Now I only use it for sad or contemplative posts, and since I don't tend to make those much, I rarely use it now.
This is Kazuya Kamenashi, part of the Akanishi Jin/Kamenashi Kazuya (also AkaKame or Akame) pairing in KAT-TUN fandom. If you ask me where I was exclusively for the ten years before Guardian, the answer would be 'there'. @jo_lasalle and I did a lot of writing in that fandom, and our longest piece (around 450k words, plus some ficlets) was a whorefic A/U with Kame as the client. He's not a bad client, really. He just expects things to go smoothly. Sadly, smooth is not Jin's forte. :)
I still use this when I think people are being incompetent.
This is Shen Wei (Guardian) being very, very calm after slamming an iron pole HARD and before getting RIGHT UP in Zhao Yunlan's space with aggressive nosewiping. So, so calm. Just about to explode a little because of course Zhao Yunlan TOUCHED THE THINGS AGAIN. Caaaaaalm. Ommmmmmmm.
That kind of situation is basically when I'd use this: when I'm feeling murderous.
