Comments: Being in this fandom for about a week now, I'm so NOT disappointed. It's got an awesome fanbase (although it's still really small, but what's there isn't small in its quality), and authors like these who get the characters and make their fics a continuation of the movie, in a sense. I just love this author and the fact that they tackled on trying to write the ending from their persepective and what Zach goes through from when he breaks up with Shaun to when they make up. They stay true to canon but give us fans a bit more since the reunion scene is a bit short IMHO. The fic wonderfully shows how much Shaun & Zach need each other in their lives, but it isn't at all mushy (kinda a big reason why I fell in love with the movie in the first place). I also love how they describe all the emotions Zach is going through in that space of time, and just, ahhh.
Excerpt: What a fool he was to push Shaun away. He snorts ruefully to himself, remembering the scene in his car. Yeah, right, push. More like shove Shaun away, with two hands in the middle of his back and a swift kick in the ass to boot. He’d been so confused, so pressured to be everything to everybody, he forgot how to be himself…or, more to the truth, he wouldn’t himself be who he wanted to be for fear of letting everyone down. But being without Shaun this past week had shown him many things, had given him the time to truly see what it was he had…and what it was he really wanted. And, holy shit, did he want.
