American Dragon: Jake Long, Naruto
Mostly AD:JL fics this time around since I seem to have caught the Jake/Rose fever. I have to admit that I haven't really liked the pairing at the beginning, but, as the show went on, I started to get fangirly over them. It has the potential to be a great ship. :D

Comments: Oh, this makes me so giggly and happy because the author makes them so IC, and I'm not afraid to click on her stories. I love how much culture she incorporates into her story, and how the story is very detailed. She basically describes everything and I love that when she does that, it doesn't make you bored with the reading, which very detailed writing can sometimes do to me.
Excerpt: "“But this is still weird,” she tells him. It is unclear whether or not she is referencing the tea, their relationship, or the thousands of uncertainties, dangers and opposites that surround them. Sensing her meaning, a placid calm washes over Jake’s face and he nods understandingly. He watches with interest as her soft pink tongue darts out of her mouth and her eyelashes flutter as she finishes the last bit of her drink. Jake resists the urge to tackle and kiss her senseless."

Comments: I love this author's AD:JL stories mostly because of her Jake/Rose interactions. It's not something that we see in the show, and so I like reading it in fics, and actually having it be plausible. Some authors just slap together a few scenes with dialogue, and then a reader like me comes along and ends up wanting to shoot their eyes out because it's not done as gracefully as it can be.

Comments: I admit this is more in-tune with the show, and I like the author's venture into Rose's mind, and how she feels about Jake. I just really like how the author writes these two. This fic is just made of so much awesomeness. And it's so sweet, and I just love reading fics like these. Ahhh...

Comments: I have no words for this fic. It's simply too amazing. It shows Sakura's and Naruto's relationship so perfectly, and it's somehow so perfectly canon even when Sakura is not bashing in Naruto's head for coming onto her. It's how Sakura and Naruto interact, and it's not sappy at all, yet it's kind of romantic in its own way. dxoverdt also doesn't follow the ten things about them in order. She skips around, and makes it work so that it's an elegant tool of writing and doesn't lose the reader.
Excerpt: "“I’m not invincible you know,” he tells her. There is a certain maturity and sadness to his voice that Sakura rarely hears. In a flash it’s gone and he’s grinning like a fool again."
