Summary: It's been said that Fire cherry blossoms smell the sweetest when they fall upon lovers.
Warnings: spoilers for The Boiling Rock and maybe some for Sozin's Comet.
Comments: This was a nice, long one-shot of Zuko's and Katara's relationship, and we see how, gradually, she comes to forgive him and starts thinking of him as more than "just a friend." I loved how everyone was IC, and it felt like canon. While this veers off from what actually happens on the day of the invasion, and when Aang has to defeat the Fire Lord, this version makes more sense to me, and kind of wish this had really happened in the canon, even though it's very sad at the end.The author also intertwined scenes from earlier episodes quite nicely, and gave us a few missing scenes which I loved reading about. I liked their grasp on their narrative as well; just something about how they weaved all the words together to tell a story, but don't bore the readers, going from the beginning, to the middle, and to the end- which is a rare thing to find in fanfiction. Very well done. <33

“Yes,” he said on a sigh. “The father, or brother if the father isn’t alive, of the bride, asks the groom if he will protect her. The groom responds with the vow, and the father then gives his daughter’s hand in marriage.”
“Did Aang just give you MY hand in marriage?” she demanded.
