'Can you help?' she asked, turning to greet them. 'I can't carry it all,' she said, her minor cuts visibly healing, like clay slowly being smoothed over, as she stood over the gimacat.

Torn flesh mended itself seamlessly, and the child didn't seem affected in the least. Something was wrong here. She was wrong...but still just a kid, and that alleviated a great deal of any kind of blame that could be dealt to her. The initial shock was broken, however, by her bright voice asking for help with her load. She was right about the meat, after all.
Holstering his weapon, Rory first stepped over to Ana, eyes not leaving the girl for a second, and this time extended a hand to help her to trembling feet while answering the question still in the air.
"We'll help you," he offered, sounding darkly amused, "but when we get back, you have to tell us how you killed the cat. And how you healed."

She eyed the girl warily, feeling like the dead eyes of the gimacat behind her were staring in to her back, accusing her of its death at the hands of what was supposed to be a child.
Her mouth opened to respond, but the ill feeling was still there, her eyes caught sight of the cuts healing over. Her jaw clamped shut, disturbing sensations being shoved away by another wave of resolve, she bent and scooped the jars in to her arms, walking past all of them.
"Let's go," she said coldly, heading back for the library.

Bending on one knee, he gently placed a hand on her arm and looked in to her silver eyes.
"Simera-chan. I am glad you alright, but please, in the future do not run off like that. You were trying to be helpful, and we are grateful that you have found us food, but we were all very worried about you. This is not a safe place, and we all need to look out for each other."
As he spoke, Ana had grabbed the jars and had instructed them in a surprisingly cold voice to go. This stopped him, making him turn a wary eye towards her before looking back at Simera and offering a reassuring smile.
"We will talk more back at the library, as he has said. For now, Rory-san and I will help you take your food back. Please stay close."
Rising once more, he nodded to Rory.
"We should both be able to carry it, correct?"
