Warnings: Hunting?
A clear valley ahead and to the right; it must have been what Tyr had meant, and Kit could already see a herd of what appeared to be their prey. Despite the skull-like heads, their bodies matched those of the deer Kit rather enjoyed to bring down for a feast, and set a rumble in his stomach to remind him of his near-week's lack of food. A few of those hooved animals would sate him for several days, and the thought brought a wolfish grin to his dragon muzzle.
It seemed unfortunate that there were other large predators in the sky; the gimazelles recognized the flapping of feathered wings and the shadows that crossed above, immediately jumping into sprints to outrun it. Kit, however, was faster in the air, and before they could outrace him, he plunged, tucking his wings in and free-falling toward them, forelegs out to grab at the first he could.
In this instance, he was glad they were smaller than his usual prey. It was easy to break the neck of the struggling thing and carry it away as his wings spread and flapped again, bringing them to the opposite side of the valley, where he finally landed.
He turned to his rider, letting the animal lay in the moss at his feet. "Perhaps I was overzealous. They will be wary now."
