(
Traveling the Space-Between, the empty dimension that his hat allowed access to, always made Herrigan dizzy. )
Silence knew how scavengers worked, and if he left the site, the graves would be torn open, and the remains would be taken. There was so little left of them, though...
He hadn't realized Toyota had left until it had been too late. He'd been hunting again, when he'd picked up the scent of blood. A trail, leading away from a point near to hospital, deeper into the wilderness of the city.
He'd found the boy first, or what was left. The Cats had had at him, but had moved on. He found Toy, shortly thereafter...
Silence clenched his clawed fingers. She'd been his only friend.... The only creature in Solluna, even in his own world, that he'd ever gotten close to.
The strips of her clothing had been strewn about the area, when he'd found her. The work of more cats. He had gathered up the both of them, and carried them away. Away from the cats, away from the hospital. He wouldn't return to that place. It had never felt right, to him.
Silence had buried them both, and had wound the cleanest pieces of Toy's shredded clothing around himself like bandages. A reminder of his friend, and a promise. He would hunt down every single Gimacat within the city, if need be, but he would make sure that they would not kill another innocent victim.
Silence lowered himself into a crouch and let his head hang, chin against his chest, eyes closed. He couldn't cry, but he understood from watching Toy just what it meant to be sad.
He wished he could cry, though. For his friend. He wished he could express himself.
