It only took a couple more feet to realize she'd stumbled across something terrible.

And one more tiny, hesitant forward to realize just what - or rather who - that something terrible was.

"Ohh... oh no..." she groaned, a boot sliding a little in the pooling drying crimson on the ground as her hand sought purchase on the nearby wall, gun falling to the ground, momentarily forgotten. Her other hand rubbed harshly over her face, covering her mouth as she willed bile to settle in her stomach and not rise as it so wanted to. The sight alone was horrid, but the smell that had already begun to rise wasn't much better.

"Ka... Katsu..." she breathed, burning tears pricking her eyes.

It took a while before she could even gain the composure to move again, let alone look at what was fully there. It wasn't just Katsu. It seemed two of his companions had gone down fighting as well.

She didn't understand. Why was he out there in the first place, where it was the most dangerous no matter who you were?

And then it dawned on her.

Ahime.

Kelly had said that Ahime AND Katsu had both been gone when he woke. Ares had said Ahime had been alone, and wandering off in an aimless direction. Putting that together, Adobe concluded that Ahime had woken first, gone off on her own, and Katsu had worried and went looking for her, more than likely thinking that she'd stumbled off in a haze and had possibly gone outside.

Once there, he'd probably been ambushed, and it was over in mere minutes from the look of things.

God damnit. This is only going to break that poor girl more...

But it couldn't be helped. Ahime had to be informed, and from there they had to get both her and Kelly somewhere else, or there would only be more of the same.

Ignoring the sloshing in her stomach, ignoring just how much her hands were trembling, Adobe knelt in the pool, wincing a bit as the gone-cold blood seeped through the thick fabric of her uniform pants. She reached for the strap on the boy's- no, body's- wrist, struggling a little as her fingers slipped about in the mire, unable to get the clasp at first. It did release, though, the two red and white balls still attached. It was all she could give the girl, but maybe some tiny comfort would come from knowing that at least a few of his companions survived...
