The door wouldn't stop squeaking. Zee had managed to fix the frame and rehang the door properly, but it refused to swing closed without a hideous screech like the wail of a dying engine. These wooden doors were outside his area of expertise. Give him a good spaceship and piece of metal any say. Perhaps someone else would have more luck with it.
A shift of his weight nearly broke the chair he stood on and Zee took that as a sign to jump down and move on. The crowd around the fire tingled in his senses and the distance soothed him. Industry and solitude served to balance him out in any situation, even those nights he slept poorly.
A few of the chairs he'd set aside the other day had been repaired, adding to the decorations Ares retrieved. Wallpaper needed patching or removing, wood needed polishing, carpets should probably just be removed given the crude sunk into them.... Redecorating was a pleasure and Zee whistled as he worked.
