Ghost felt, more than heard, the first group of newcomers arrive. He had just lain Niji down to rest, covering her carefully with a blanket and tending to her comfort, when they made their arrivals known to Zee.
Ghost left the shared household and stepped back into the red light of what passed for dusk in Solluna, offering a small wave in greeting to the first few.
It was then that Hatter Miggx arrived, giving Ghost quite a start. At first he thought it had been some sort of cloaking field, like his own, but...No. It was something else.
He began to say something, but found he couldn't. The Hatter's presence was having a strange dampening effect on him. The man's mind was a jumble of madness mixed with sanity, the norm for where Miggx came from. To Ghost, it was like a wall of noise, a screeching needle of pain in the backs of his eyes.
Ghost didn't even seem to realize he'd started to bleed from his left eye at first, focusing instead on the source of his discomfort. He immediately threw up a psychic shield, the best he had, to STOP picking up on Miggx's thoughts.
In his own mind, he calmly assured himself that he was fine, and would continue to be so. As long as he kept the thoughts of THAT particular individual out of his head. Otherwise, it seemed he was liable to burn himself out.
Ghost shook his had to clear the cobwebs out, blinking away what he assumed was sweat as he stepped up beside Zee and cleared his throat.
"Hello, everyone. I know most of your faces from the Journals, although some of you are new. I'm Ghost, as you might've guessed if you'd checked our little "Palm Pilots". It's a pleasure to have you in our..Uh...Community, I guess you'd say."
