Somebody give the man a turtle

I’d like to start off by saying that the concert is like a two hour argument in favor of Jin’s decision to become a solo artist. Not that I thought KAT-TUN had been holding him back or that what’s happened is necessarily a Good Thing. But. Not having to compromise on what’s good for the group as whole lets Jin’s main talents (hip hop, hat wearing, standing around being hot) shine through. And there is a lot of dancing which is not a bad thing at all.

To help with the dancing, they hired people including:

Mike Chang
Joey Something-that-sounds-like-T, who looks like a less clean cut version of Mike Chang from Glee. He got to do a little solo act at the beginning. Hello, not-Mike Chang’s abs :)

Alexis Castle
Aubree who reminds me of Castle’s daughter from, well, Castle because she’s a redhead and has the same bangs (Yes, I’m shallow like that). And so I developed a slight girl crush and stared at her a lot. I do wish they had hired more than two girl backup dancers because two’s such an unwieldy number. It fills one’s head with concerns like, “Do they grab lunch together or do each other’s hair? What if they don’t get along? That would suck because not much in this world is worse than a vindictive female”…did I mention my two-hour long girl crush on her?

There was not a word of Japanese said throughout the entire time except for the usher’s, “Sumimasen. No photos.” But Jin’s English has improved! He’s understandable(ish). Just not when singing. And he explains with his new found English skills that the concert’s theme is ‘futuristic’ (though mainly cuz Jin makes a good robot).

Halfway through, a Random Japanese guy showed up to wave around a sword. People screamed. Logic dictates he must be that guy from MA (or some other person in JE).

…and at the end, somebody threw a stuffed turtle onto the stage. The backup dancers, being from such exotic places as Arizona and Virginia, did not get it, kinda shrugged, and thought, “Ah, what the hell. Must be part of being a Jpop idol.” The crowd knew better (ie screamed). Jin danced with backup dancer dancing with the turtle. Once again I marvel at how conveniently named Kame is. The dancers held onto each of its little legs as they did the final group bow so it was like Kame was there. In plush form ♥
