ToyCon 2007
LAST June 16-17, a Toy Convention was held at Megatrade hall at SM MegaMall. I was a volunteer marshall that time. I was with my ol' anime fan co-marshalls. Henry lead our team to the success of the event.
There were cosplay events, live rockin' bands, contests, and more. Toys, toys, and more toys (did I mention toys?)
I've seen some old friends too! Friends from my IRC anime channel, #weareanime.
Lloyd, Jackie, Leo, Mike tanda, Mike Touya, Ludz, Ate Recy, Bible, Jessie. I've only seen a few of them :ashamed: even I've announced it before. And of course, the usual faces like Adz, Nico, Dan, Henry, Louanne, and the rest of #waa people. Haaay. I missed these faces.
Heto di ko alam kung saang anime galing, pero nagpapicture na rin ako sa tabi ng mascot na ito... (Joke lang ate... wag mo ko sasaktan... wag po...)
It was really nice to see my friend Elena again. She's already married... and 4 months pregnant. Ang takaw nya hehehe. See you again soon.
I love toys! Especially mecha model kits. Actually, I got over 13 Gundams on my display cabinet, and still growing (maybe I'll take a picture of them one of these days). On the last day of the event, I bought a master grade model of Gundam Wing (ver. Ka).
I've also seen some celebrities like Deither Ocampo, Melissa, & the other guy from Rounin. But this guy in the picture is much cooler.
Cosplayers everywhere. Everyone has been busy preparing their costumes. The anime fans are so anxious to see their favorite anime in flesh!
And of course, I am, too, an anime fan. So I went taking pictures with some cosplayers. Like this sexxae gurl who wore a Haruhi costume from the anime,
"Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu". And one girl went Jumong's girlfriend.
What's not cool about this marshall-ing is that, I really didn't anything at all! I mean, I don't really expect any cash here but... for the past few events I joined in, I at least got some goodie bags and anime stuff. Well, I got a T-shirt, at least. Oh well. I hope It gets better next time. To be a marshall is no joke. I had to stand up almost for the whole event.
