Ow.
Back: sore.
Pecs: sore.
Shoulders: sore.
Legs: sore.
Jaw: sore (from clenching on a mouthpiece for 2+ hours)
The first time I attended one of these savate seminars I thought, "This will be easier than the muay thai seminars, because the kicks in muay thai are so much more powerful"
Wrooonnnng.
In savate you have to be so much more speedy and mobile. There's a lot of darting into range, attacking, then quickly escaping. In muay thai if you miss, you let the leg carry you around in a full circle. In savate everything is snap-&-return.
And there's a lot of kicking multiple times without putting your foot down... low round kick followed by high round kick, low+high side kick, mid thrust kick followed by a low side kick, high round kick followed by low side kick, low round kick followed by a high heel-hook followed by punch combo... so exhausting.
But anyways, I'm now a Green Glove in Savate.
