Savate seminar

Sep 14, 2006 13:56

Next week wednesday, Sept 20, there's going to be a Savate seminar at my martial arts school, OC Kickboxing.
It's 7-10pm, $35 prepaid to participate, $45 same-day to participate. I think it's $20 to watch.
It surprised me to learn that this seminar is open to anybody to participate. If you're a martial artist and want to spend 3 grueling hours studying Savate under one of the world's top Savate instructors, come on down.
Who's teaching?
Nicolas Saignac

Former full-contact Savate champion in France, 2nd Degree Silver Glove, Professor (that's a real title) Nicolas Saignac is one of the top Savate instructors in the USA. The man is an amazing martial artist. His sense of distance and timing are incredible. He can move in, punch you in the head, and move out of kicking range before you can blink. He can kick you in three different locations faster and more accurately than most people can punch. And, like all the masters who do seminars at our school, he's friendly and humble.

What is Savate?
It's french kickboxing. Compared to Muay Thai it's much more mobile and rapid-fire.

Training is done WEARING SHOES, so if you want to participate you MUST WEAR SHOES! Wrestling or boxing shoes would be best, but a crosstraining or even a running shoe would suffice.
