Happy new year

HNY, peeps.
I stayed home last night and tried to keep warm. God damn it's been cold lately. Especially when the accursed orb of bright pain cancer death & discomfort isn't in the sky. I suppose I could have gone online and checked to see what was going on at Der Clubz0rs, or with Friends(z0rs), but... the computer is in the roomie's room, and there were odd sounds coming from that room, so I just huddled under my blankets and called people on the phone. Good times.
Slept a long time! Or maybe just slept a healthy amount of time, I recall waking up around 4:00am, and not being able to get to sleep until around 5:30. Damn thoughts.

I dreamed that I was in Hell. Fortunately, I was one of the humans chosen to be an enforcer. Not Demon status, but not Damned, either. Well, perhaps Damned, but not doomed to an eternity of torture for my sins. I guess we were somewhere between Sinners and Virtuous Pagans, "virtuous sinners" or something. I and a group of similar humans got to sort of be servants to The Big D. We were stationed in the Greeting Hall of hell, wearing semi-stylish black butlerish uniforms. We were sorta like the "cast members" at Disneyland, only a lot more abusive and rude, and we did a lot more angry shouting at people than they get to at Disneyland.
When sinners would come into hell, a majority of them were a pretty stupid lot. They'd try to put on attitudes, making demands, asking questions, and trying to bargain. We'd put up with none of that. With lots of verbal abuse, and smackings if necessary, I and my comrades would put them in their places, and usher them into the various halls where they would recieve judgement and sorting by the demons.

I remember there was a sound system in the greeting hall of hell, and we got to choose our own music! Performer that I am, I started dancing creepily to some classical music, and we all decided to play nothing but classical music, and dance creepy all the time. It was rather disconcerting to the incoming Sinners. Then I snuck on Mono No Aware's "Tepalock", which starts with some classical-sounding horns(?), but breaks into industrial, and I started doing the normal industrial stomp-flail dancing. Good times in hell.

In a later part of my dream, not sure if it was a continuation of the hell part, I was on a beach. There were a lot of other people around, not dressed for beach-going. The waves were behaving oddly. They would peak and break normally, but instead of collapsing, they would form a perfect "tube" or "barrel" and roll for a while, then the breaking crest would become thinner and thinner until it dissipated and revert to a simple wave again.
End dream.

I hear there are people who have never seen the ocean, or flown on a plane. Are any of you gentle readers so deprived?

PS- wool socks keep the frozen feet away.
