Two quick questions

Hey y'all. I have a couple of questions. The first thing is, I have just started teaching myself tarot. I already searched through the tags and found some good suggestions of books and websites so I will definitely be checking those out. My question is, I have heard that it's not a good idea to do (or have done) a reading for yourself too soon after you've had one done. Is this true? If so, how much time needs to pass between readings? I did a reading for myself on Samhain and I would love to do some more but I don't want to mess anything up. Also, do you think it's possible to get accurate results when you're just starting out? I'm just using the books I have and the information that came with my deck. But it certainly seemed to be saying a lot of things that made sense.

Ok the other thing is, number one, I wanted to thank y'all again for the encouragement about writing my own spells--I first started to for Mabon, but then I pretty much just modified and added on to ones I found. But on Samhain, I actually completely wrote out three different ones all by myself, and it felt great! I definitely think they have been working better this way. So my question is just, I guess, does anyone have any general tips or guidelines to make sure I'm doing things right as I start doing this more? So far I have pretty much just been taking the materials I have and writing what feels right. Is this ok? Again, I don't want to mess anything up.

Thanks as always for your help. :)
