I've rarely ventured into the botanical realm (in fact, a black thumb runs in the family), and a lot of times things tend to be a common sense question of some sort. So I was wondering:
Will seeds sprout during winter months if raised indoors? Places like Lowes and Wal-mart stop selling herbs around this time of year, but you can buy seeds online year-round. So before I try and order a packet or two from the internet, would it be simply a waste of money? (I've been warned against it before, but I'd like more than one person's opinion on the matter.)
I live in a place where we do get frosts by late October or so and the only window I have faces East-Southeast. Forgive me for asking such a beginner question, but I've been curious for a long time.
Also, will the few plants they still sell at stores die over the winter if kept indoors? Or are there certain plants that are good for inside (if so, herbal suggestions would be appreciated!)?
Thanks so much in advance.
