Springtime in Louisiana

As I type...
my fingers are quickly becomming little round sausages due to the wonderfully overseasoned wonderfully salted crawfish from our first crawfish boil of the season. This is the only time of year you are legally allowed to walk the streets reaking of the dozens of cloves of boiled garlic thrown into the boiling pot, along with potatoes, sausage, corn on the cob...basically ANYTHING AT HAND. We are home now, completely content to allow our bodies to bloat and our pores to leak garlic..sadly we left behind a few dozen diehard crawfish people (the kind that talk and eat at the same time as to lengthen the amount of time spent with heaping piles of mudbugs) , and those who havent quite gotten to the "OK IM READY FOR THE BANANNA PUDDING" stage. The pudding tends to extenguish the fire burning in your mouth. And as we walk away from the party small burn marks are left at the corner of our mouths, making it look as though we are permantly happy and content , and we truly are. AHHH ""Laissez Les Bon Temps Roulez"... and NOW ITS TUBBING TIME!!! Hurrah for sunburned knees!!!
