I went to Freshman orientation at D'Youville college on Wednesday. It was that bad. The girl I was rooming with was pretty cool, too bad she's a commuter. Did a whole bunch of things there. We had groups that we were in, and my group played Red Light/ Green Light. Insane. My group leader was a guy named John. He was pretty cool. Stayed up until 12 something, and woke up around 3am hearing my roomate talking on a her cellphone with her boyfriend. I didn't care, but it was wierd waking up to.
Next morning had breakfast with my roomate, her friend Earl, and his roomate Liam, and a few other guys. Liam is pretty cool. We met the night before during human bingo. Had our entrance exams after breakfast, then we went on a tour of the campus. We had someone else's group leader instead of our own. This guy was another John. We were talking and he asked me from where I was from. I told him I was from "the Rochester area". He asked where. I told him about a half our east of rochester. And he asked if it was east or west of webster. I told him "east". Then he asked if i was a 315er, and I am. I was so shocked to hear someone say 315er anywhere outside of the fingerlakes region. Then sat through about 2 and a half hours worth of lectures about financial stuff. And after we went on a scanvanger hunt around the campus in our groups. And the stuff they were asking us to find, and describe, were wierd things described on the tour.
Got results back from our exams and i found i should take this Chem class to help review high school chem. Eh, why not. It's free. Also, i need some help in writing. That I expected, cause my writing sucks.
After our groups went back to the PVR, which is the cafeteria, and had pizza while trying to configure a schedual for this up coming fall semester. Luckily, I didn't have really any problems making classes fit. I didn't have to take freshman english, cause my credits transfered. The Orientation Assistances were making it seem like the next day we were going to be waiting for hours to consult with people on the classes we are taking, and then registering. But, it wasn't like that at all., for me, anyways.
The next morning I met these two girls, Amy and Nicole. Both of them are in the nursing program, and I was sitting with the wating for them to start calling people up for consulting. Amy was the second one to be called, and I was the third. I sat down with the head of nursing, and was there for 5 mins and was done. Amy told me to wait for her and we will go to Koesslar Bild. to register together. She was done consulting and we went back to the table to grab our purses when Brad, and OA told us to run to the KAB, to register. So, we literally ran. We got there, and she forgot her health form. So, I was next. I was in and out like that.
Amy is pretty cool. Her and I are going to go to the UB Club Hockey games, because her boyfriend plays. Amy is a commuter, too. So, she won't be staying the dorms. I hope i get a good roomate in school.
Then i went back to the room and got my stuff. My mom and dad took me to the Buffalo zoo. :-) That was interesting. I saw the baby monkies play. They were sooo adorable.
Went home pretty much, until we decided to stop by my cousin John's to see if my computer is ready. He thought it would be, but he forgot to order a dvd burner. So i have to wait probably another week. All this time I have been living without AIM. This blows, because i have Chris' screen name, and have yet to talk to him since I saw him last saturday. Frustrating beyond all hell.
I have to go finish some laundry and then go to Fretto's party.
