Tomorrow I go back to DYC. I’m kinda excited to be back on my own again. I’ve printed out a bunch of logic problems, because puzzles stimulate the hippocampus, and if you don’t use it you lose it. Among doing puzzles, I’ve read so much. In pages, I’ve read maybe around 800-900 pages so far. I’ve read my Alan Alda autobiography, the sixth Harry Potter book. One thing about the Harry Potter book, I have to say this one has made me laugh so god damn much. Harry having a crush on Ginny, and all of this weird stuff, almost soft-core porn in some of the sections.
Anyhoo, and now I’m currently regaling myself in Jack Kerouac’s Satori In Paris. It’s a non-fiction book about him trying to find his heritage in France. I would wake up and read a couple of chapters, and they all would include him trying to pick up the cute blond in the “whore district” of Paris, and drinking cognac, or trying to find an actual Parisian meal. I just don’t get how he decides to start a new chapter, when it doesn’t make sense to. This took place when he was 43, so that means he only had 4 years to live after that. He was a magnificent man, a drunkard, but a magnificent one at that.
I got to see Tim, FINALLY!!! We got together after dinner, and basically watched movies and talked some. It was so great to see him. We watched Ocean’s 11 and then Detroit Rock City, and a little of Jay Leno, and then he left. During the time he was there, I got a phone call from the Owen-bean. He was a tad bit drunk and in bed at 9something pm. Way to go O.
Today was hockey day. It was the first airing of the NHL on NBC. I have to say there were some good points to NBC’s broadcast. 1) They had a guy commentating from between the two players benches. Imagine if that was my job…yeah I wouldn’t be doing my job. 2)they interviewed players after the end of a period, which ABC didn’t do too often.
But what sucked about it was that their intermissions sucked. AND THEY DIDN’T GIVE ANY INFO ON THE AVALANCHE GAME!!! But…I did get to see Steve Yzerman, B. Shanahan, Chris Chelios. And after the Detroit/NY game they went to the Boston/Dallas game. In the couple mins left in that game I didn’t get to see my Leetch. But…I did get to see Marty Turco, who they interviewed at the end of the game. Next week is Flyers vs. Penguins. Um…Go Flyers!!! I’m not too fascinated with Pittsburgh and the whole Crosby thing. I’m not feeling the vibe that makes me like him as a player. I don’t think anyone on that team gives me that vibe. There are a few on Philly that give me that and that gets me excited. Argh, Scott won’t be there when I get back, so no more discussing hockey with him.
Well I have to get some sleep.
