I will be writing fiction featuring the four TMNT based on these prompts. Please don't expect quick completion of the stories; I'm doing this for my own pleasure whenever I find myself with some free time and a need for inspiration. :-)
There's a shadow which follows me, tracking my guilt and keeping tally of each mistake I make.
This weight, sitting heavy across my shoulders, is mine alone to bear. My knees feel weak under the burden, but I'd never dream of sharing it with anyone else. I brought it all upon myself, and alone is how I will carry it.
No matter how hard I squint into the darkness the face never reveals itself. I imagine it taunting me, hissing insults. I'm never good enough. I failed myself. I failed my family.
In the quiet sanctum of my room I sit down and light a candle. It helps me meditate and hone my senses just right. The soft light reveals no shadow after all.
It's just me.
