Some Suggestions

Since Horror Night was cancelled last night Encaf1 and I haven’t been able to put together a list of Horror Movies to watch for Hallowe’en yet.

I’ll throw a few out there as possibilities.
No guarantee these will be shown. Encaf1 and I need to basically discuss what we want to see.
Some will be old and some new probably.

1. The Beast of Yucca Flats (1961 B&W - 54 mins.) - An extremely “C” grade movie starring Tor Johnson. On the scary meter it’s probably a 1 out of 10 but It’s campy, weird and Teirin could watch it. Sure it’s not overly horrifying but it would be an ok starting movie before the night gets dark.

2. Kwaidan (1965 - 183 mins.) - A film we haven’t featured at Horror Night yet. It’s an anthology movie featuring supernatural Japanese folk tales. Though it’s not overly scary from a modern audience, I’m a sucker for folk tales involving spirits from any culture. I find parts of it creepy but someone like Teirin probably wouldn’t

3. Haxan (1922 Silent - 104 mins.) - Witchcraft through the ages is a silent film that I managed to get a nice modern soundtrack for. Though it’s somewhat of a documentary, its medieval and renaissance style demonic imagery has made it a classic to horror connoisseurs.

Again, these aren’t set in stone. They’re simply some suggestions. One of them will likely be picked. Encaf1 will likely pick a different one from his own list and the rest we will chat over. Another one I haven’t listed is the recent black and white silent Call of Cthulhu movie if we can get our hands on it.

horror night, halloween
