Changing Appearance

On my travels with the Lady Ashe, I had realised something many would consider common sense. That is to say, the clothes that one wears that are suitable for court, and airship travel and small tasks, are inconvenient, uncomfortable and annoying when one is traveling on foot, unnecessary attachments slapping at you as you move, nonprotective against the weather, and make no accounting for temperature variations, since airships are carefully temperature-controlled.

With this in mind, I had made sure to purchase new clothes, both for practicality, and as an effort to change. Lady Ashe's words still linger in my head.

I now wore solid, well-made, plain brown knee-boots, leaving my embroidered fripperies in a locker provided at Massimo's. My trousers were a dusky red, and less likely to rip than my other set. My belt was simple, without the long embellishments  of my old one. My new shirt was still white, but had close-fitting sleeves, and over it I wore a leather tunic, as light armor. I had finally managed to acquire a sword, and it hung from my belt.

Although on my past explorations I had found someone to accompany me, at this moment I wanted very much to be alone, and so I had slipped into the city, taking in the unusual sights and smells again.
