It's strange. For some reason I managed to keep up with (most of the) homework this year. Really! OK, I wrote some translations during the lesson before but so far I've not even once been sitting in a lesson in front of an empty sheet that was supposed to have the translation of the current text on it. Is it really possible that I become a model student NOW? After soooo many years? LOL. Well, probably not. But I'm getting better at at least pretending to be one *nod*. But I usually skip about four lessons a week and because of that I already had a run-in with Underwood. Though that is absolutely none of his business. Last week he reduced some poor girl to tears because of her presentation even though it wasn't really that bad. It was a bit boring but I've heard worse (mostly from teachers *snerk*). He wasn't even really being malicious, just his usual snarky and arrogant self. I think the problem is that the girl wasn't from our school (I mean, she is now) and hadn't known him for as long as we do. She still takes to heart what he says and, well, that is a mistake. There are some teachers that really want to help you and who mean well when they tell you some not-so-nice truths but he's just an asshole *shrugs*. We in the backrow usually entertain ourselves picturing him in bed with Alcantara, doing naughty things with handcuffs. Keeps you from taking him too serious. And, hey, it was Aurica's idea, not mine! XD
Handcuffs... that reminds me that today I ordered
With No One As Witness by Elizabeth George. For some reason today I felt like reading another Lynley/Havers book. What I like about them is that they are not romance books but still retain certain qualities of soap operas. The last few books were sort of a trainwreck to read. Not because they were badly written, just because you knew how he'd react to what she'd done and watching her getting deeper and deeper into the mess they had created... that 'AAAARGH! Don't Say It!'-effect... I love that ^^;;;; <-- ebil
I also got the new Barbara Hambly novel,
Renfield, Slave Of Dracula (yes, I lol'ed too). I haven't even looked at it yet because it's a HC and too heavy to bring to school for reading on the train and I'm too busy to read it at home. I fully intend to read it during the holidays, though. I mean, it's Halloween! I can't think of a better book to read!
As for more interesting news, I thought I needed to train my Photoshop skills again after not doing anything for weeks and Stef thought that the resulting wallpaper (Loveless... yes, I was sort of surprised too) was too good to keep it on my (and her) desktop alone and that I had to share it with the world. So
here it is. It's not my favourite image and as I said, it was just to practice doing things with layers but after having it on my desktop for a couple of days I think it's not bad. BTW, for those who use Style XP, I recommend the
Angel IBSC skin (page 12, second from top). It looks really cute with it (and with most CCS and Chobits desktops).
I need more bishies for a new winamp skin. I have high hopes for the new Tsubasa colour images (due to be out in a week and a day -_-;;) because there should be an eyepatch!Fai. If not, I'm screwed *sigh*. Well, there is still the new Lala next week (or the week after that) and I think that a week before Halloween, a new VK colour spread would be in order, ne?
I also got an e-mail that new stuff from the shores of the eastern Mediterranean has arrived at my favourite Greek shop. Hm... should I only order the new Sarbel album or should I get the Nylon Euro Edition too? Hm... decisions...
And Manu, in case you read this: I talked to my Dad (who is back from Berlin) and he says it's definitely the harddisk and that there is very little you can do. Send it back to the seller and kick their ass.
Edit: Yay! Meme! from Taer XD
