Thank you. ^^ Yeah, if I was Minekura and wanted to do my own version of JttW, I think the relationship between Sanzang and Monkey would be the first thing I'd want to re-write.

Omg, and not to mention Pig is the biggest fucking liar on the planet, and stupid Sanzang ALWAYS takes his word over Monkey's! I really found Pig to be the most hateful character of the story. >:(
symbolic of his union with SanzoI was thinking to myself that I could agree with this metaphorically, but maybe not literally--because then how does that explain Goku already having the band before Konzen ever met him? However, I think it could definitely represent something of his "union with Sanzo/Konzen" in that Sanzo('s soul, whatever the incarnation) has given Goku something he has lost, and vice-versa. The raw power-vs-outlandish impulses, as well, but I think it also has something to do with Goku being taken out of his natural environment and put somewhere he doesn't belong, where he can't cope with the baseless hatred and fear and his diadem (re: self-control, self-possession) snaps. I was under the impression from the Gaiden that the first time Kanzeon saw Goku was when he was brought before her, and Konzen just happened to be there, and she made sort of a split decision that Goku, with all his spirit, would be good for Konzen, who was literally wasting away with boredom. (Or at least, that's probably what se'd say if asked, haha.) In the original story, the Merciful Goddess got Goku's band (along with two others) from Buddha, then put it on Monkey's head herself, yeah. But now that you mention it, I guess it's obvious se must have seen Goku before at some point, duh. I don't know if the way it came across in Gaiden was a Soli scanlation issue, or Kanzeon just being hir manipulative, match-making self, heh ( ... )

I’ve seen a lot of fan-authors portray Seiten Taisei as an alter ego or separate consciousness/personality from Goku, but this isn’t accurate.
I never liked that either. It just doesn't make sense. And that's about as coherent as I can manage right now. *iz sick and pitiful*

As for the drabble...it was made of win! <3 I agree with you in that I much prefer the way that Minekura has depicted the limiter and what it means. That's why I don't think Goku sees it as a burden, but understands what it means. And I agree...I think that's why Sanzo reacts the way he does. <3 <3 <3 You're always so adept in your musings about them. *beam*
So...did you get anymore writing done? XDDD My phone sort of died, but I figured you didn't need the distraction anyway. *laughs*

Eee, thank you. ^_^ Yes! Not as a burden...but the storyline is evolving to a point, especially with the latest reveal about what's really going on with the Minus Wave and demons "becoming the real you," that I wonder if Goku might go in the opposite direction and entertain the idea of his limiter as a crutch.
Uwahhh, only about 100 more words since I talked to you. T_T I need to really get my butt in gear!

*nod nod* Most definitely. And if you will recall towards the end of Vol 7, when the demons are discussing that they have become their "true" selves, the girl demon tells Goku and the others that she hopes they can do the same. Then, Goku starts to think to himself and says, "If that's true...then what the heck am I now?" Reading your comment sort of reminded me of that. It's going to be interesting to see where MK takes it, you know? The wonder of it is that she can go into so many different directions. Gotta wonder how that brilliant creator-mind of hers is working. >____>
