Okay, I applied my sekrit new technique to my sketches, and got interesting results!. ^^;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;; Weeell, it's not exactly what I was envisioning, but i think i like it anyway. I think if I do a larger picture, it will be more like what i want to go for. getting all the details of a face into a square inch is a little difficult. I'm going to combine all four of the pictures into a fifth layout, but until I'm done with all the computer editing, I will be posting the singles up. :) First up is Gojyo! ♥ He has kind of a fierce look in this picture, I think. My last picture posted was somewhat ignored except by 2 of the lovelies on my flist--::runs and hides in the corner, crying:: but i will not be deterred!! ::good guy pose:: I'm pretty excited by how these Urban Jungle pix came out! Please enjoy them!

Artist: Xpyne
Rating: PG
Warnings: WIP, worksafe
Character: Gojyo, obviously
Medium: Original was 8H pencil on paper, then applied sumi-e style (just water and ink). Chinese Yellow Smoke Mountain Ink stick ground in a slate well, painted with a small, hard bristled bamboo brush: the Happy Dot brush. Then lined over in black rollerball pilot pen, and pelikan white highlights added last. w00t!
Time Taken: apprx. 2 hours
Notes: This was a lot of fun to do. I learned about Chinese painting and Sumi-e in a class I took last summer for fun. this is my first time applying any of these methods to some thing other than a traditional styled painting. It didn't turn out exactlylike I wanted, cuz when i painted over the 8H, my lines disappeared, which made it hard to ink accurately afterwards...
