Name: Blaze the Cat

Personality:
Blaze is relatively quiet and keeps to herself. Rarely does she have much to say, but when she does, she means it. She's not afraid of bad reactions from others--just the attention speaking up might bring. Others probably see her as someone who keeps to herself, not very outgoing at all. She can also be a bit blunt during conversation. It can be off-putting to some, or endearing to others. It depends on the recipient.
Being the princess of a dimension far away and sole guardian of the Sol Emeralds, she feels lonely in the world as if no one can relate to her troubles. Guarding such valuable gems can take its toll, and her parents are completely unsympathetic to the plight of her duties. She doesn't see herself as a cold-hearted person at all... just guarded. Besides, if others aren't patient enough to see how warm she can be, then they aren't worth her time and effort.
When she likes someone else, she'll end to be slightly more talkative than normal, though conversations are still a bit strained. Her primary goal in life is to protect her dimension and the Sol Emeralds that protect it, and sets off immediately to retrieve them when/if they get stolen. Perpetrators of their constant theft feel the wrath of her rather uncontrollable fire powers, as to people she does not get along with in general. While she'd like to prevent harm against anyone, she lacks control of her ability to wield fire and can often unintentionally cause harm to those who tick her off. It's given her a bad reputation, at least in her home dimension, and worries that it will also catch on in Sumabura.
Backstory:
Blaze was born the princess of (a kingdom yet unnamed by Sega) in a dimension similar to but not parallel to Sonic's. Much like Knuckles, actually, she's been deemed with the responsibility of guarding the dimension's emeralds, the Sol Emeralds. Unfortunately for her, they were stolen not long ago, and she tracked them down to somewhere in Sonic's dimension. While cold and dismissive of him at first, the two, along with Tails, Amy Rose, Cream, and Knuckles helped recover all 7 of them, and through their help, Blaze learned what depths friendship could really delve into. She returned home a changed, happier cat.
Little time passed before she met up with Sonic and Tails again in her own dimension. The emeralds had been stolen again, this time by a robot named Captain Whisker and his accomplice, Johnny. This time, with Sonic, Tails', and her new friend Marine's help, the emeralds were returned to their rightful place in the universe, and Blaze once again strengthened her trust and friendship with her acquaintances, particularly Sonic and Marine.
As more time passed, her parents thought a proper education would benefit her, since her timid demeanor seemed to be holding her back from ambitious goals. Against her will, Blaze was sent to Sumabura Gakuen to get an education in another dimension with better knowledge of the universe and its workings. It was there that she noticed a fellow classmate's infatuation with her. Flattered by his interest, she shyly accepted his invitation to the upcoming Homecoming dance, and the two, Bark the Polar Bear and Blaze the Cat, became a couple.
Soon after, however, problems in Bark's personal life surfaced and forced him to depart the school. Feeling a deeper connection to him than to her education, she followed him in the middle of the school year to support him during his most stressful times.
As the months passed, Bark's family situation settled down, and while he seemed content staying in his hometown, she felt the need to continue her education due to family pressures. Sad to leave him but happy to be back, she returns to SBG eager to further her knowledge of the world and learn to be the best leader she can be.
Anything Else?: Blaze can conjure and project fire, but has problems controlling it at times, especially when she's upset. She has gotten better since she first started at SBG, though.
