there is something really nice about the radio and how random it is.
especially now with 98.7 Simon. which plays everything.
like tonight, reid and i belted out boston, ace of base, sawyer's "whoa whoa whoa" song, that one song by sophie b. hawkins, and the counting crows. it was my favorite 20 minutes all day.

i went to my spain picnic today. my dad is, as it happens, cuban, annnnd he knows one of the professors going. this means that while all the other kids got to enjoy be english-speakers, i was hanging out with my family, dr. lagos, and the department head, speaking broken down spanish. i guess it was nice to understand almost everything they said, but i realized how terrified i am to go. we have two three-day weekends while we're there - one with the group and one on our own - and i'm probably going to go visit my spanish family on the free weekend. spanish family i have never met. family my dad hasn't met, family that my grandmother has only met once or twice. i don't know if this will be enriching and enlightening or crazy awkward. (ps, a plane to my family in northern spain from madrid is between $60 and $80....retarded. it's only slightly more expensive to fly to berlin.)

on the bright side, i will be going to all kinds of museums. i will shop my pants off. it will be HOT. i'll go to andalucia. i'll learn spanish. and i know i'll be terribly homesick.
