Small friends cut

Small friends cut for people I haven't had contact with in quite a while and/or dead journals. Nothing personal. Let me know if you think there was a mistake.

I feel I have survived only because of my recent knowledge about fruit fly infestations... or is that experience? Yes, experience... I have gained no knowledge except to understand that I still have them.

Anyway, there can be no other explanation as I have been such a bad LJer of late.

Don't be silly. I guess I've never explained this (I always meant to do up a "get to know me" post), but the real value I see in LJ is in fostering human relationships. Even if someone abandons LJ, as long as we "connected" in some way at some point, it will take me a very long time to let them go, usually a couple of years; smaller connections will take less time, but still a long time. And if people comment and I know they're reading at least sometimes, that counts for a lot. Most of the people I defriended I've never really connected with.

So, that's all to say, I've connected with you! Much more than over fruit flies - mostly relationship stuff, I think, but other things too. So no worries. :)

:-) But you gotta admit I've become sporadic and disjointed in my posts and my commentary.

Life has well and truly got in the way.

I'm trying.

Based on my post circa about a week ago, you must know that I'm in the same boat. I've been a very, VERY bad LJ friend and can't expect the same from others. I completely understand that people get busy and can't post/read; or even if they are spending time online, perhaps they have migrated, in whole or in part, away from LJ. I judge not. :) (Lest I be judged.)

Also: Except for a few randoms, my flies seem to have all died. Hopefully the current ones won't lay eggs and they'll all be gone soon!

Mine seem to be gone from the kitchen, but I see them from time to time in the bathroom and the living room. Hmm.

I was lazy about attacking my infestation. All I really did was take the garbage out, do the dishes, and put out a wine trap. I had a bad infestation last summer for a whole month and believe me none of those things would have helped. I had to put any non-sealed foods in bags or the fridge; wipe down *everything* (the kitchen got a thorough cleaning); put out multiple traps; try the vacuum method, etc. I pretty much tried every tip I found on the internet.

Good luck with your infestation! What have you tried so far?
