I like how
cleolinda put this, so I'm meme-izing it:
If you are celebrating holiday(s) today, what foods are you nomming? And if presents were involved, what did you get that you really liked? Or, for that matter, what did you give that you really liked?
Strangely, I haven't had a full meal since I came to my family's last night. We've been snacking on homemade salsa and nachos, meatballs (both meat and vegan), muffins, bagels, fruit, and much much chocolate. We leave for supper soon and should have the usual - turkey, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, gravy, assorted veggies, and pie pie pie.
Presents I really liked: my
subversive cross-stitch pattern, My First Office Chair(TM) (it's not really called that), a Jayne hat!!!!! (thank you
hnarbit!! the Texas-shaped cookie cutter was pretty sweet too!),
Ghirardelli chocolates (thank you
americangrl69!!), and The Dark Knight on DVD.
Present I REALLY liked that was NOT for me: Wii Fit. My step-mother got it this Christmas, and we all measured our BMI and "Wii Fit Age". I am NOT telling you my BMI - though my family all saw it, so I feel VERY brave, considering they're all skinny minis - but my Wii Fit Age was the same as my own age!! Which was the best result of anyone! The other good result was my brother, who got 1 year older than his real age. Everyone else was way off - my other brother got 20 years older, my brother's girlfriend got 19 years older, my step-brother got 15 years older, and my dad and step-mom got 14 years older. Seems like the balance test affected that a lot. I was prepared to be full-out humiliated, so that was nice reassurance. They said that I'm in great shape! HA HA, considering my BMI, but I think that system is flawed anyway, so I'll take it. I AM in great shape, after all, considering. The near-professional basketball player in our group got a BMI 20 years older. Bizarre.
I didn't do very well on the games ("training"), though I kicked ass on the yoga ones - even getting the only 4-star result of the day. Wa-hoo! I'm going to have to come hang out here much more often just to play Wii Fit! I did 30 minutes of activity, and I feel nicely buzzed.
As for my favourite presents that I gave away: The Commie-Mints to my brother were pretty sweet, as was the DIY book I gave my other brother. I also like the vintage purse-making book and Hannuka cookie cutters I gave to friends.
Time for supper! Have a great night, whatever you celebrate (or not)! :)
