Spoiler-free thoughts on Twilight:
Basically, it was great. If I was seeing it in earnest, then it would have only been okay - some parts awesome (VAMPIRE BASEBALL ROCKS!) and some parts horribly awkward. But when you add the cracktastic squee in, it was AWESOME. Half the movie was just intense staring, I swear. Rob Pattinson had the most bizarre expressions. HA HA. My friends and I were laughing obnoxiously through the whole movie (not TRYING to be obnoxious, but it was just FUNNY and we couldn't help it!). There were a couple of other groups of people laughing a lot (we laughed the most) but most of the theatre seemed to take it really seriously. At one point someone behind us said "It's not funny." But that particular scene - I'm sorry, it so WAS!!! Hah. Anyway.
Most of our theatre was pre-teen-age. Seriously. Not even high schoolers, mostly junior high it looked like (granted we were at an early show). I think we were the oldest people there, aside from the parents who were chaperoning their kids.
I wore my 'Support Cedric Diggory' Harry Potter shirt to the movie! My friends appreciated it, but no one else seemed to notice. My friends had "Team Jacob" keychains, and one had made a "TEAM VAMPIRE BABY" shirt in sparkly letters. SO AWESOME.
I enjoyed the movie a lot. I can see this being a cult hit - even the awkward parts were cracktastic, and the parts where they actually tried to be funny, were actually funny. Two of my friends who'd read the books thought it was okay ("Not enough sparkly!"), and one friend who had not read the books really enjoyed it as well.
I will likely edit this post with more thoughts as I go through my flist and read
cleolinda's certain-to-be-entertaining thoughts and links.

What has surprised you the most about me (if anything) since joining my flist? Was anything completely unexpected or have I always fit the picture of me you have in your head? Post this in your own journal and see how you have surprised people.
The add on: For those that have met me in person - how different am I in person, as to what you preconceived from reading me on the flist?
Apologies in advance if I post a lot today. I am babysitting a sick friend and may be inclined to boredom.
(Obligatory warning for spoilers that will surely show up in the comments.)
