B.C. premier blames separatists for Harper's failure to get majority Okay, I'm not very familiar with British Columbia Premier Gordon Campbell, but he's coming off as quite the n00b in this story. Yes, blame the Quebec separatists, 'cause they're such an easy scapegoat, especially in the West. Ignore ordinary Quebekers who just maybe felt the Bloc Quebecois best represented their interests, separatists or not; ignore progressive Canadians who, the media say, "split the vote on the left"; ignore the popular vote that shows that most Canadians do NOT want Harper leading the country; and most of all, PLEASE ignore Harper himself, who by all accounts was projected to have a majority going into the election but who committed mistakes like poor handling of the economy and lost it all by his own self.
"He said Mr. Harper's Tories won a strong majority everywhere except in Quebec and he said Mr. Harper is clearly the man most Canadians want as prime minister."
Strong majorities?? Campbell must be ignoring Newfoundland and Prince Edward Island. And Conservatives have a little under half of the seats in Ontario.
What an idiot. Sheesh.

EDIT: Saw some of the U.S. presidential debate. McCain is REALLY nasty tonight, and he unfortunately is controlling the debate and putting Obama on the defensive. Obama is handling it well, though. McCain doesn't seem as angry as last time.
I really HATE how untouchable Sarah Palin is. Obama praised and praised her, but made one political caveat; then McCain says "Yeah yeah Biden is a good guy, BUT" and then lays into him. I absolutely DETEST how Obama simply can't do that to Palin, else it would look bullying and mean.
DUDE. She wants to be Vice-President. Ovary up!
