01. It is SUCH a beautiful day today! The weather has been crap for a solid week now, and any nice weather we've had in the last few months has stayed around for a few days at most and then run into hiding again. Which is infuriating to me, a summer lover. So after work I walked straight past my house and jaunted around for a good 30 minutes,

MMM, Zero bars! A family I babysat for used to have a ton of them in their freezer and I'd sneak one once in a while. HEAVEN. If I end up trying to transport frozen poutine, I might stick a Zero bar in there.

Also, they don't have Tandoori Doritos down there. More's the pity.

Ooh, what don't Canadians get about American culture?

Curry lays tasted pretty much like other curry things. Good if you like that sort of thing, although one of the few types of chips I couldn't eat the whole bag in one sitting (not because of the spiciness, just because the curry flavouring gets to me after a while).
Wasabi Lays tasted like mustard, which I guess is what Wasabi is but I never had it so I thought when they said 'Japanese Mustard' they meant that it was slightly similar, but different.

Hmm, I don't think Tandoori is my favourite spice so that's one reason I haven't gone out of my way to try it, but I still should. I think I'd like the Curry Lays, I love curry. I've never seen or tried the Wasabi ones! The wasabi I've had with sushi, though, doesn't taste like mustard at all. I just taste spice when I try it and I hate it - it burns!

And yeah, I do like curry too (in fact, I'm about to go cook some Curry Mr. Noodles now), just too much of it gets to me.
Though I've never actually tried real tandoori. I was hoping the chips would be an introduction, but I'd imagine they don't taste like tacos, so...
Oh, speaking of Mr. Noodles, I'm reasonably sure that's a brand they don't have down there. But they probably have many other kinds of equivalent ramen so not really good to bring unless mildly amusing names are reason enough.

The curry chips are okay. They taste like curry. I can't eat them, though, they make me sick. If I can get past the tummy ows, they are also heartburn in a bag to me, so. :)
re: culture... it's hard to explain. It'd be like trying to explain to an American why medicare and MPs shouting insults at each other are the most natural things in the world and anyone who doesn't have those things is a bit weird. :P

American v. Canadian government is sort of like, "this is serious business. We are being serious" v. "this is serious business. Now piss off, you fucktard". :D
