Losing internet until Sunday night
My internet should get shut off sometime tomorrow, so I just wanted to post and let you guys know I'll be offline for a few days. I may be on briefly as I come across random computers with internet access ("my preciousssss"), but I don't expect that to happen too much.
Packing is crazy and insane, and I am severely lacking in sleep. I'm going to bed now in an effort to get a bit more sleep tonight. I haven't had time to keep up with my flist the past few days due to intense packing, and by next week I doubt I'll have time to fully catch up. Sorry! Link here to anything you really want me to read or think I would enjoy. :) The move is Sunday afternoon and internet is already set up there, and I will be SO relieved when this is over. Then May becomes Unpacking and Set-Up Month! Commence with the non-existent squee.
To anyone who plays Neopets: What the HELL is with the fugly new layout? It's making my eyes bleed and is severely messing with my sense of navigation. I HATE the top bar and the drop down boxes. How inefficient. I feel lost in city I've lived in all my life, and I do NOT like that feeling. I expect the neo boards are completely entertaining with wank and I may just have to check them out briefly before bed... Briefly, I swear. (ETA: for my own reference, a good post with screencaps and reactions to the changes. Now I'm going to bed!)
(Yes, I'm reading TWOP recaplets. Shut up.) I LOVE the TWOP recaplet from last night's American Idol. I've only caught a few recent episodes, all because indilime's Cake love has turned me into a second-hand fan. The episode was basically a charity telethon and understandably it was severely weird. But it makes for entertaining snark!

Then we meet some people from ExxonMobil and Esso Angola, who say with a straight face that they give a fuck about saving the lives of the people they're murdering. I missed that part, but amen, brotha!
Shit, I didn't expect TWOP to be inspirational. But there it is, right at the end of the recaplet:
- I am glad that Sting wasn't there. It's pretty cynical to trade on the misfortune of others when you're part of the very multinational conglomerate that depends on keeping them down; it's pretty awesome to do something to make a change, even if it's something small. What makes me feel cynical is patting yourself on the back for doing so, when what you really need to be feeling is not fake bullshit Hallmark pride and a sensitive Phil Stacey kind of feeling that you cannot name, that will fade by tomorrow morning, when your real life starts up again. What you need is a holy Sanjaya kind of anger that doesn't stop until you've accomplished the job, today and all the days that come after that, until the end of your life, and that's how you know you changed the world.
