Early voting in North Carolina started yesterday. I'm going to head over to vote before hitting Obama headquarters tomorrow.
Reasons to early vote:
-Do it at your convenience. In NC, you can hit any early voting location regardless of your precinct, at any time during their open hours.
-Short wait times. Futher, you're not going to be responsible for helping to drive others away on election day who don't have the time for long waits.
-Register at the polls. Even if you missed the registration deadline, you can still register at an early voting location. If you are registered but, like me, concerned about potential voter disenfranchisement, this is a good way to circumvent that by having the option to re-register if you need to do so.
-Once you early vote, campaign offices get your name and you're taken off their lists of people to bug. This means that you can stop getting harassed by politicians, and that people like the Obama campaign, with limited time and resources, won't need to spend any more of their time and energy on you and can focus on getting other people to the polls.
