Ok, it's been forever, so everyone check out my new picture!
Meet Bethany Rowe, my level 9 Defender. She only has a few hours left to live.
Luckily for her, those hours don't start until later tonight, and may even be extended until tomorrow, depending on whether or not I get my beta invite. I'm going to make her level 10 at least before I delete her, if only to see which power I'd like to pick next...but don't worry! Once I get my beta account I'm going to recreate her.
Once I've got her to level 10, if I still don't have my beta account I'll probably start my Controller. He promises to be interesting. I'm looking forward to mesmerizing the enemies and BENDING THEM TO MY WILL AHAHAHAHAHAHA
Ahem. For all of you who are interested, City of Heroes is like crack in game form. I think you should all go out and get it so you can trip like I do.
Work is far more interesting, and slightly less nasty. We've gotten a new department manager named Allan Lo (no relation to Steve), and he seems to be much more receptive than our previous overlords. He has a desk in the same room as we do, for instance, instead of locking himself away with the big bosses. Steve is effectively his consultant, and I am the team leader. AccuPC is breaking away from LT, apparently, so we'll see how that goes. Allan did good things for Syntax, and now he's here to do good things for us.
I'm developing several training modules for work as well, specifically a customer serving training module that can be used company wide. Observe conversation below between myself and the customer service quality manager, Ron:
Ron Seery says:
Hey...on the people skills training...you'll probably want to take it from two approaches. One...training the end-users (the sales, tech, RMA, etc. agents) and also on the trainer aspect....train the trainer on how to deliver the training
Rebecca Pourteau says:
Hmmm. So would that make me a trainer trainer? Cause I think you'd have to be a trainer trainer to know how to train a trainer on how to deliver the training.
Ron Seery says:
true...but I will train you on training the trainers to train. That would make me a training trainer trainer
It's the intellectual conversation at work that really makes my day.
Wedding stuff. I have a lot of it to do. The end.
In other areas, still waiting for all the answers to all our problems to fall into place. Checked email, friendly advice and divine inspiration. No answers yet incoming.
Totally slugging out on the gym. Really need to start going in the morning when I *know* I don't have time for CoH...almost got up in time today. Tomorrow!
Waiting for my invite. Refresh. REfresh refresh.
