Oh Livejournal; it's been a long long time.
I tried out for Derby last night. In the beginning you wait to "interview." Here they question you about various things. Why do you want to join Derby? What are your hobbies? and so on. As I'm waiting I get an eye full of all of the girls being tested on how to skate backwards and then turn back. This is the moment I wanted to both cry and throw up, I actually thought about leaving. I was grateful that this station was not my next but rather my last. In any case there were a lot of great skaters and I felt neither better nor worse than then any of them. I find out tomorrow if I make the first cut. One thing I've learned is that I need new skates. I was surprised to see that 90% of the girls trying out already owned a pair of speed skates. I felt slow.
