I believe it was Samuel Johnson who jokingly remarked on man's perpetual desire for Spring.

Spring is always viewed as a time of beginning, a season of new opportunity. We utter this as we reflect upon what we have achieved in past months, little. Our faith is invested in this foolish idea that Spring will evoke a great change within our being. In Spring, we will accomplish the tasks we have always desired to complete but have been too "preoccupied" with life's essentials to ever see develop. We will finally rise from our pillows and lift the artisan's tools.
We shall etch...we shall paint...we shall mold...we shall film...we shall photograph...we shall write...we shall sing...we shall create ourselves in Spring.

I promise, I swear, when Spring comes so shall I come in awake from my lazy slumber, alert and prepared to create. I will stick to my plans. I will better myself in every facet of my body and mind. I will be someone new, someone superior.

Oh, Spring, how time idly passes while I daydream of your forthcoming.
