Porter Run...

Ok So at my school we have this annual thing called First Rain when UCSC students run around campus naked when it first starts raining. Well this year...I got naked. NAKED! Haha…I got unclothed in front of a MOB of strangers. Crazy. Omygoodness, I surprise myself sometimes. I really thought I’d be a spectator again this year, but something in the back of my head told me to go for it or else I’d never get the chance to again. So without too much thinking and debate, I simply took off my clothes, left all my inhibitions and ran. It was liberating AND frightening. I ran through the forest cold and wet, chanted “nudity is unity”, and inadvertently posed in front of pervs taking pictures. At one point I even started running through some sprinklers with bright headlights shining in front of me like some sort of spotlight. Very wild. I saw a massive amount of penises as well. Someone told me that the run was about 80% guys, which isn't too unreasonable seeing how it’s girls that are mostly self-conscious with their bodies. I was completely sober too. I was achingly aware of my boobs jiggling up and down, and the creepy dude from class running behind me. eww. Other than that, there weren't too many awkward moments. Except when these group of clothed boys started yelling my name. I heard one of them say "hey it's Krissia, from the fifth floor." Haha, oh my, do I know you? and I saw Adam B. from High School with shorts on top of his head. He yelled my name as he ran by. I saw lots of people I knew but I just smiled and went on my merry way.

Whoa. What is Santa Cruz turning me into? I am turning more liberal and hippy by the second! At first I thought I was just being more open-minded, but the more I learn about the world and my place in it, the more I find my previous beliefs being challenged. Like I don't think it's enough to merely accept the world the way it is and blame others for their unfortunate circumstances. Apathy is humanity's worst enemy. and I honestly do believe issues like racism, classicm, and sexism, can be things of the past. And given enough love, peace, and dedication, everyone in this world will be able to eat and get access to a good education. Yupp, Peace, love, and harmony is my new motto. I’m a hippiee! …I would never name my kids sunshine or patchouli though :)

I know the world's a bitch don't get me wrong
You've got to give the world the finger
You've got to sing a happy song
But Making love's by far the better part
Can I kiss your furrowed brow and calm your nervous heart ♥
