I'd think it's pretty common. I'm excited to have people wanting me to do things especially for them, and it's a good way to insure a paycheck coming in [knowing you definitely have a client.] She has several friends that want to get portraits done as well. It helps to fund my own body of work, though takes away time I need to develop it.
I've done some portraits from the subject sitting. It's rare you find someone that wants that though, because of convenience or time constraints. But I think they like the classicism, and being a part of the process.
Pictures are much easier of course, and people can send in their favorite ones or can have a photo session taken. Either way, it's fun and becomes a keepsake/heirloom.
At first I thought, "SHE'S PAINTED JOHN LENNON!" But after paying attention to the title and subsequent paragraph, I see that is not the case. :Þ
I like it and I think Billie will appreciate it as well. It's a very cool painting. He appeared to be a chill person.
How old was he when he died? He looks so young in the painting.
Headache and nausea. Sounds like my evening yesterday. I don't know what it was that crept up on me but it definitely had me down for the count. I went to bed a little after 6:00 pm and didn't get up until maybe 8:00 something this morning. I just felt downright potty.
Hopefully you're feeling better. Sounds like you need to take a moment to yourself and just relax. But I understand. Things are happening and you've got to keep up.
Just make sure to take a breather and pee in between projects! :)
So more work, eh? What about those pee breaks and whatnots, Funk? And 3 paintings to finish in a month!?!?
Ah well.
I have no idea what I had. All I know is that I felt like dying. Anything having to do with stomach or head issues bothers me. I don't like feeling ill and not having anything to fix it. I think my body is just reeling from lack of care and so on and so forth. Just have to chill out

I wish you didn't have to support so many people! I know it's hard enough making ends meet ourselves. You take it easy, and I hope this new job will allow you to keep more of your money, and get more rest. Tonight has been a good art night, I hope for you too. Though I have only started loosely on things, at least it's a beginning. You understand how it goes. You've got some good time between now and the 20th, I know you'll finish it! There's nothing like those frantic, terrifying and thrilling last couple of days before the deadline, haha. That's what I'm looking forward to.
Hey, I didn't realize the alumni show would be so soon! Since graduation I've had no grasp of semester-time; I was on my own schedule which, yes, is very lackadaisical. I have to work hard during the week, so that next weekend we can procrastinate. Talk to you later <3
