[When the video flickers on, there is pendant with a crest the shape of the sun hanging off of its end dangling before the screen. He takes it away after a moment, iridescent eyes whirling and thoughtful.]

It is a gift that is the result of a... God. [That part is said with a certain degree of recitation to it -- almost as though the speaker is saying something whose meaning they are unsure of. Adds-- ] And if it were a human, the intention of the gift would be clear.
Humans bring gifts to Gods in order to please them. [This, however, is said with certainty.] They bring gifts to appease their anger, and sacrifice in order to gain favors. They would go so far as to invent their own Gods, Gods as a creation of their accidents and appease them with sacrifices as though to place faith in coincidences.
Almost as though they believe they can change the way of nature.
[Derisive snort. Then, a thoughtful pause. He dangles the pendant.]
Human nature can be that way. A God is not human in nature, that is for certain. However, gift-giving is very much... what humans do.
[The question.] Based on these premises, what I wish to pose is this -- what, do you think, might be the intention of a God who gives gifts to another God?
