YOUR ICONS ARE ON THEIR WAY TO COMPLETION, I SWEAR. Hit a bit of a roadblock otherwise known as A COMMON SIDE EFFECT OF LIFE, but I'm sure you understand. This sucks ball, Kateface, I just want to seclude myself away in the lush lands of fandom forever :(

Speaking of giant watercolor things (omgomg), I seem to recall you asking for references? I was thinking this dude has a certain roguish charm that might work. And by roguish charm I mean he's fucking adorable. Still have nothing for Itachi, at this rate I think you'll really have to use women for models lololol.

Do i ever understand :O i haven't done much in fandom tho I have loaded myself with so many art requests i'm probably retarded orz BUT IT'S OKAY. They'll get done. it's just.. more incentive. Maiiiii school is eating my brain too. I have to write a paper on "what is art?" a surprisingly difficult question to answer :/

..your image hosting site appears to be sassing you, might wanna backhand it?
but yeah. totally women models... Itachitachi is not the manliest thing ever XD

...what kind of retarded ass-backward question is that? People who ask that question just obviously DON'T UNDERSTAND THE ARTIST'S SOUL. Reminds me of this philosophy seminar I took in freshman year that was called Art, Love & Beauty. The course description told us we would be trying to answer the question 'what is art?' By the time we had gotten our brains sufficiently hamburgered by the likes of Plato/Kant/Schopenhauer, we'd totally forgotten that was even a question to begin with.

D:< I spanked that bitch, but okay, thar he blows: [1] [2]

Ugh ugh that sounds heinous. this class is more grounded in reality, but it doesn't make me hate stuff like minimalism/abstract surreal expressionism/duchamp, etc any less. I can't help but have a raging hatred for people who draw squiggly lines across a canvas and go HURR IT'S ART. or paint canvases white and say it's deep and meaningful.

OH THE FIRST ONE, HE IS ADORABLE. And very Shisui, down to.. to everything, even the vaguely arrogant "i have the motherfucking shunshin" tint to it. >D

a primer on filler science, case study: naruto nthcoincident October 18 2010, 21:41:57 UTC
/deep breath

Sometime in whenever the hell the first series happened, the anime chewed through its source material so quickly that it was forced to default to the infamous ~100 episodes of filler just to fill up its broadcast slot. It killed viewership so much that now the anime people are terrified of even the remotest possibility that they might get too far ahead of the manga (OR GOD FORBID, KISHI PULLS A CLAMP X/1999!) that they're inserting fillers after each arc rather than mainlining through the canon and having to go 385923852 arcs of filler while waiting for the anime to catch up.

...

in other news, YOU'RE ALIVEEEEE! And since you offered...I totally want to see all your school drawings NAO. My vote is so for the film noir.

Thank you! lolz i'm glad someone actually answered the question. xD Oh naruto anime, how you disappoint me.
Also, in related news, the tsukikage vs. kabuchimaru & deidara? you have got to be kidding me, the kage's gonna get kiiiiilllllled :O

Okay, you asked for it... :/
bear in mind neither of these are "finished" per say, (about 90% done tho) they both have shadow issues that i'll be taking care of shortly/various other issues, but yeah:
portrait of a cephalopod, full shot.
and this is something i banged out quick, cause uh, i wanted to draw my friend morphing into a firebird :D and to prove i could do something "simple."
firebird, full.
firebird, closeup.

Personally I don't even know why they bother with filler. If I were them, I would pull backstory out of my ass; I wouldn't mind watching ten or fifteen episodes of meaningless baby Ita/Shi fluff...

I KNOW. THAT CHAPTER WAS STUPID ASIDE FROM THE FACT THAT IT INTIMATES THE RETURN OF ITACHI WHO WILL BE PISSED AT SASUKE. ALSO MADARA IS GROWING A HASHIRAMA TUMOR ON HIS BEDROOM WALL.

...I have nothing to say about how amazing that cephalopod picture is. How do you compose those drawings?! They're always so intricate wahhhhh
Love the expression on the second one. You win, you proved it :D

I THOUGHT THE SAME THING- if they retain part of their original personality, we might actually get to see Itachi laying down the smackdown to his wayward brother, how awesome would that be? I would laugh forever XD

thanks :D
i am known about my art department for stupidly detailed, torturously composed pieces ._. they take at least a month because yes, the composition takes tons of planning and masking fluid and hoping you don't muck up the color balance, because unlike in oil painting, there is no painting over in watercolor, no going back, if you fuck up a section that's it. XD WHOO.

Your artwork sounds like an amalgamation of a bazillion awesome legends/pieces of history. Pictures please. :D

Totally out of context, but do you live in CA? Finally someone who lives in the same state as me. I am excited. ALSO, BRANDON FLOWERS A;SLDKFJA;SLKDJF HI, I LIKE THAT MUSIC.

AND I WANT TO SEE THE ITA/SHI THING TOO. Should I prod you further or do ronsard and nthcoincident have the issue under control?

Actually, yes, my "thing" in watercolor is mashing different mythology systems together, (like Greek & Hindu, Japanese & Russian) and jumping genres/time periods, so you are right on the money there. :D

Awww, no, but I'm part native american, and my tribe is La Jolla, so when we visited I took some bitchin' pictures of the reservation lands.

BUT FUCKING BRANDON FLOWERS. YES. I even got my mother addicted to his crooning voice. Also I like him cause he's fucking insane, and i am totally addicted to his lyrics, etc.

I think it's under control, but periodic prodding never goes amiss >_>

That's so cool! I can't really imagine doing art like that... do you simply merge together parts of different mythologies that are similar? Or is it just based on instinct and aesthetics? Because I must say, this: Japanese myth + Russian firebird myths. This sounds so beautiful together, I can't even imagine it.

A;SLDKFJ I don't blame your mother for becoming addicted. His voice is like a siren's, always calling to the heart. It's ridiculous and he is brilliant. Crazy, but brilliant, guh.

Ahem. *prods* Pft, who am I kidding? I can never be as ~persuasive as Mai and Shivi.

part instinct, part planning, part what i think will look cool together. actually i try and make them as different as possible, so there's a big contrast created when they merge together. :P
