Pick a flavour (or more than one) and I’ll write a drabble(-ish, depending how well I can keep it down to size) piece about Oceanglide - or Stormcloud or Waterlog - in that mood.

It came down to an error in communications. On that all parties were agreed. Where the error occurred or what exactly it was… was anybody’s guess, provided they didn’t make it too loudly, where the Sea Team could hear.
It might have been in the intelligence they were given. Or the team briefing beforehand. Which might have been why when they breached the ship’s hull, Stormcloud burst into the cargo hold instead of engineering, Waterlog hit the engines instead of the main navigation array, and Oceanglide found himself surrounded by a bridge full of startled Autobot officers.
The error might have happened in their hasty regrouping once the destroyer was taken, which could account for how it crashed onto a small tropical moon before they could hasten back to Decepticon space.
Or it might have been in the exact questions asked in their briefing, which would be how no-one could explain what exactly turned the moon into a radioactive marsh by the time Tidal Wave arrived to help them off-planet.
Or perhaps all the error was in the questions their debriefing asked. The Sea Team vehemently and violently refused to tell. No matter how small or accidental their confusion in the matter, they made very damned sure everyone else’s stayed worse.
