Just Muse Me: Stormy Weather

Storm
[ooc: prompt response to this]

The guards posted outside Lilith’s stronghold had one warning. Black clouds rolled in suddenly, but in the nighttime sky with a new moon the clouds were hard to see. It was the last thing they would see. Before they had a moment to think about the odd sign, lightning lanced down from the clouds and turned both to ash. The next bolt was that struck was no force of nature. Castiel streaked down from the Heavens, the force of his landing creating a shockwave that blew out windows for miles around. Though he’d lost the element of surprise, he still had his fury.

Demons rushed from the back door and he struck them down without lifting a finger. They had made a mistake in taking Pamela. They had made a big mistake. Her destiny was still unfinished, her purpose not fulfilled, which gave him free reign to get her back. And he planned on killing as many of the demons who had taken her as possible.

On his way through the back door he touched the frame, whispered a few words and blessed the whole house. Demons began to scream around him as the ground they stood on became holy ground. Still, they came at him, throwing themselves in his path. He knew Lilith was getting away. She had probably fled the moment lightning struck ground, but he wasn’t meant to stop Lilith. His goal now was to get to Pamela at all costs.

He found her in the living room, tied to a chair at the head of the table like a guest of honor. One foolish demon had stayed behind, though the holy ground was sapping his strength.

“One more step angel and I’ll cut her throat.” The demon hissed, holding a knife against Pamela’s neck.

Castiel simply tilted his head and threw the demon to the left, out the window to his side. He was hit by lightning before he hit the ground. Any demons that fled outside were struck down. He let none get away, even as he carefully eased Pamela into his arms.

Touching her bruised and bloodied cheek gently he felt more fury sweep through him and the clouds above rumbled ominously.

“You’re safe now.” He said gently, “All will be well.”

Spreading his wings he disappeared from the house in the blink of an eye, but the storm lingered, rolling through the sky as a warning and a reminder to what happened to those who tried to hurt what was protected by an angel.
