Simple
[ooc: Set in the Detective!verse. Pam = hottestpsychic, Sam = likely_evil, and Jo = ironknifehunter. Pam/Cas is cute no matter the verse.]

Cas had to doge left and then right as his attacker swung for his nose. He ducked under another right hook and came up underneath, wrapping his arms tight and spinning his assailant around.

“Uh, guys?” Sam said, clearing his throat. “We’re annoying the other customers.”

He looked around the line and smiled sheepishly at the people that were glaring at them. Pam, of course, just laughed.

“Ah, they’ll live,” she said, wiggling in his grip. “Detective, are you going to put me down anytime soon?”

“That depends on whether or not you’re going to continue to assault me or not,” he said, looking up at her with a smile. “I could arrest you for that, you know.”

“Ooo, I like when you get the handcuffs out.”

“Guys.”

Pam laughed again and Cas ducked his head, releasing her and stepping back, embarrassed. The line outside Gino’s East was a really bad place to have this conversation, but he knew there was nothing he could do to stop Pam once she got going.

Sam’s embarrassed look seemed to reign in Pam, though. She hung on to his arm and rested her head against his shoulder. “Sorry, he brings out the worst in me sometimes.”

Jo chuckled, shaking her head. “Yeah, the worst.”

The two women shared a look that Cas didn’t quite understand but he let it go. He knew if he asked, it would just get him laughed at some more. Right now, he was pretty content to let the conversation go on around him and study the strange group of friends he had somehow collected. He still thought like an orphan sometimes and didn’t quite get how he had managed to gather all these people into his life.

Sam was looking much better these days. He wasn’t as pale or sickly looking, though the signs of a rough night of sleep still hung around his eyes. Jo didn’t hold on to Sam like Pam was holding onto him, but the way she looked at Sam, who had an arm around her shoulders was answer enough. Those two would work it out, maybe already had.

“He’s almost got the upstairs bathroom completely retiled,” Pam was saying as she nudged him in the ribs with an elbow. “I’m trying to convince him a Jacuzzi tub is a worthwhile investment.”

Cas rolled his eyes, “It’s not in the budget, love.”

“I’ve got to teach you how to live outside the budget once and awhile, baby.”

He chuckled and kissed her forehead. He wondered how she’d take it if he told her why it wasn’t in the budget. She’d probably be pretty surprised to hear he had been cutting back on his spending on the house so that he had some extra money for their honeymoon. He thought about it, but figured he should wait until after he asked her to marry him.
