So all in all it wasn't a bad weekend. I've tended to not enjoy my weekends that much since I've been back from vacation. They tend to remind me of everyone who is gone and just didn't seem as much fun. This weekend was all right. Friday night was kind of tough at first but ended up being pretty cool. I talked with a friend of mine that I hadn't had a chance to talk to in a while. She's been in a relationship with a great guy who is leaving soon. I'm happy for her that she finaly met someone who is amazing to her and for her. I have never, in the three years I've known her, seen her this happy. Her man is a really nice guy. He's hoping to get back over here, with the army or without it, to be with her and I wish them the best of luck. Along the same lines I heard from another friend I haven't talked to in a while, unfortunatley not for any good reason other than they walked away from the friendship without an explanation. It's sad when you realize that a friendship you held dear wasn't as dear to the other person. Oh well you live and you learn.
Saturday started off with hearing from yet another old friend. I get to talk to him once every few months and am pretty psyched to here from him when I do. He was one of my best friends and we served together. Big will kept me sane when the Army was doing it's best to make me lose my mind. He's been living in Chicago for the last couple of years. I was happy to hear he's expecting a kid very soon. Unfortunatley it means he's not going to make it over here this year like he had hoped. After talking to him I went out and met up with spoon. The SEAL's were having their turnaround party (when the SEAL team on station here is releaved and go back to there normal duty station in the states.) I can't say I was sad to see any of this group go, but I was happy as hell to see a friend of ours rotate in. We haven't seen him since January when he came over for a short vacation. He made Master Cheif (e-8) since we had seen him last so we celebrated that. It turns out this time they didn't rotate over here from the states as they normaly do his guys came straight from Afghanistan and I was deeply sadened to hear it was five SEAL's from his team that died recently. The party was ended up seeming like part celebration and part wake as this was the first oppurtunity for most of them to really mourn for them and tie one on. They set up five shots on the bar for the men that didn't come home with them. We all ende up pretty toasty I went across to the Oberhaus and then once we closed that place I went home.
Sunday Boeblingen (the town I live in) closed down the Center of the city for a Classic Motorcycle race. I was kind of suprised to not see more Makes I was familiar with, but It was very cool seeing the bike and then seeing them race. Spoon and I speant the day walking around and watching the race. It was a far better sunday than I'm used to (sitting at home nursing a hangover watching TV or cleaning.)
Today I am going to see a lawyer. I don't know if anyone recalls my post about the army tracking me down to pay me some money they owed me. It occured in November some time and then they finaly made payment some time in January. Well they contacted me last friday and said they decided they didn't owe me after all and I have until 1 September to pay it back, all 9,000 of it. I'm going to see the lawyer to find out if they can do this, and what my options are. I know they owed me the money, they knew they owed me the money, the cheap bastards. Anyways wish me luck
And finally Phishy is getting hitched! Right now the hope is over halloween in Vegas. I really want to go. Even with everything that happened I wish him the best and I want to be there. From everything he says his Fiance seems like a really nice lady. Unfortunatley I may be in Kosovo at that time. I'm still going to try to get to vegas for it but he said he would push back the dates if I was unable to be there.
