Well, better late than never

Since I've moved out of state and am currently "consulting" part time, I figured I'd put my extra hours to good use - a LiveJournal update for my readers (all two of them)!

Cleveland has been fun - lots of good food: Aladdin's for delicious, cheap Mediterranean food (Kelci, it's a vegetarian's paradise); Malley's Chocolates and Ice Cream Shop AND Mitchell's Ice Cream for the chocolate and sweet fanatics out there (aka me); Wild Mango for artistic Asian cuisine (Joe); Litte Italy for Italian restaurants and dolcerias galore (anyone and everyone); and, well, we're still exploring.

Dayna D. from Providence was in town over the holidays, and we were able to catch up with her while she showed us around the east side. She went to Case Western and is currently working in the Atlanta area.

The people in Cleveland are really nice - just like the South - except most of them have accents sort of like you imagine an accent from Wisconsin. Not as prominent but similar. Our downstairs neighbor invited me to her Pampered Chef party and I won a knife and an orange peeler. (I also ordered an egg slicer; we've used it a lot.)

Yeah, it's cold most of the time and snows on the weekends occasionally, but the roads stay clear and as long as you bundle up it isn't that bad. We went tobogganing with Joe's family when they visited for New Year's, and our dog loves the snow. No one in our apartment complex picks up after their dog, so it is very hazardous walking when the ground is warm and gooey. Hence, I have a rule to not go walking when it's dark. But with the snow and frozen tundra, it gives me a new freedom. I can walk all over the grounds and not worry about anything sticking. =) Possibly icky to you, but lovely for me! Today it got up to 45 though, so I had to be vigilant.

Speaking of our dog, here is a recent photo of Cha Cha and our cats. Thanks to my readers, I've learned that photobucket is the way to go for posting pics.

Lots of changes ahead. Joe is working his first 9-to-5 job as an aerospace engineer, I'm looking for real work (although I do like working in my pajamas on the bed and getting paid well!), we're buying our first house, we're exploring a new area. Hopefully my family will come up at the end of March to see the area. Maybe I'll even add another update before 10 months have passed by!
